74th Annual Sao Paio Festival Events at the Naugatuck Portuguese Club, 110 Rubber Ave
Friday, August 30th
10:00 AM Opening ceremonies at the Naugatuck Town Hall honored Arthur Nunes as “Mayor of the Day”. Refreshments are to follow at the Portuguese Club.
6:00 PM Food Stands will be open serving the delicious traditional Portuguese foods. Such as Portuguese Cavacas (Cookies), Eels, Famous Roast Beef Sandwich, Grilled Chicken, sardines, and pasties de Nata to name a few.
7:00 PM Music by “Tropical Duo” from Waterbury, CT.
8:00 PM Traditional Portuguese Festival Dance - “Rancho Foloclorico - Recordacoes de Portugal de Bridgeport” from Bridgeport, CT.
9:00 PM–12:00 PM Music by “Tropical Duo” from Waterbury, CT.
Saturday, August 31st
8:00 AM Signups for the Annual Sao Paio 5K Road Race, which will begin and end at the Portuguese club. A portion of the proceeds from this race will go to benefit the United Way, for all the good work they provide the community and beyond.
9:00 AM Sao Paio 5K Road Race starts on Elm Street [next to Advanced Auto Parts].
12:00 PM Food Stands will be open, serving delicious traditional Portuguese foods.
6:00 PM Children's Traditional Portuguese Folkloric Wear Contest.
7:00 PM Traditional Portuguese Festival Dance - "Rancho Foloclorico Culturas De Portugal" from Waterbury, CT
8:00 PM Traditional Portuguese Festival Dance - “Rancho Foloclorico de Danbury Coracoes de Portugal” from Danbury, CT.
9:00 PM to 12:00 PM Music by musical Group 'Intensity' from Bridgeport, CT.
Sunday, September 1st
11:30 AM Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Baldwin St., Waterbury, Ct. In honor of all members past and present.
1:00 PM Lunch [Almoco de dobrada] Tripe will be served at the Casa Varina Restaurant.
